According to a tweet from Brad Cecil’s father, the true freshman will be getting his first career start at center for USF football tonight when they take on UConn at 7 p.m.
So proud of the determination and hard work Brad Cecil has always put in and today it pays off...Brad will be getting his first College START at Center for the #21 USF Bulls as they take on UCONN at home in Tampa! Congrats Brad! Nows its time to go to work! pic.twitter.com/8peb5JmjVj

Cecil was a standout at Jacksonville Bartram Trail, earning first-team all-state honors his senior year of high school. He also finished third at the Class 3A State Finals in shot put with a toss of 55’4.25”. #Athlete.
The Duuuuuuval native was rated as a three-star (.8485) by 247sports and was the highest rated center in the state of Florida by the recruiting service as well.
He replaces beleaguered sophomore Michael Wiggs, who has struggled mightily in 2018 in pass protection and has had multiple shotgun snaps sail over the head of 6’5” junior quarterback Blake Barnett.
As I mentioned on the podcast this week, if USF was going to make the change to Cecil it had to be tonight versus UConn, because it would’ve completely irresponsible of the coaching staff to give Cecil his first start on the road against Houston and the best defensive player in the country, DT Ed Oliver.
I’ve reached out to USF for comment and will update this story when I get a response.
