Stampeding Through The Roster: #62 LS David Burdetsky

Getting all these Sun Dolls pictures from the NCAA Tournament has to be one of the best things that ever happened to this site.

Our other #62 should see a lot of playing time - in fact, he's the only player on the roster with no current competition.

#62 LS David Burdetsky
Redshirt Freshman, 6'1" 215 lbs.

Stats in 2011: David redshirted last year and sat out the season.

Current Spot on Depth Chart: Burdetsky is listed as the team's long snapper on the post-spring depth chart.

How Did He Come to USF: David was (we think) a walk-on from Trinity Christian in Jacksonville, where his team won the Class 1A state title in 2010 and he was an all-state offensive lineman. (It doesn't say if he lost weight since then, but a 215-pound lineman in 1A isn't that out of the question.) As Gary notes, David may be the first long snapper with his own highlight video:

Recruiting Rankings: He's in the Rivals database, but doesn't have a star rating.

Projected Playing Time for 2012: Burdetsky is the only long snapper on the roster, so barring injury, ineffectiveness, or someone else coming in this fall and taking the job away from him, he'll be out there for every punt and placekick the Bulls make.
