John C. Cotey, who covers prep sports for the Tampa Bay Times, sent out this tweet on Saturday evening:

Moore was part of Nebraska's 2011 recruiting class after playing high school football at Countryside High School in Clearwater. (247, Scout, and Rivals all listed him as a four-star recruit.) Tyler became the first offensive lineman in Nebraska history to start the first game of the season as a true freshman. He started four games at right tackle, earning All-Freshman Big Ten honors from ESPN, and he was slated to start his sophomore season at left tackle.

After Nebraska's practice on Saturday afternoon, coach Bo Pelini addressed the situation with Moore, saying:

"We'll see where that goes, I'm not exactly sure if (Moore's absence) is going to be permanent or non-permanent," Pelini said. "He's working through some things personally. I can say this, I talked to his father this morning and he said there's a bunch of things being said out on the Internet and whatever, on the blogs that aren't true. I'm not getting into what his situation is, but he has some things he needs to figure out personally and we'll figure it out from there."

Moore is still listed on the Cornhuskers roster and has not officially been granted a release. Only after that happened would USF be allowed to talk to him. And even if Moore did end up transferring and playing for the Bulls, he would have to sit out the 2012 season barring some unbelievable, miraculous work by the compliance ninjas. Still, having a ready-made replacement for senior left tackle Mark Popek drop out of the sky would certainly be welcomed.
