USF Basketball vs. Georgetown: Bulls Again Look For First Big East Win

The South Florida Bulls are still the Big East's only winless team in conference play, and right on the heels of their fourth straight Big East loss on Thursday night, USF returns home to face the Georgetown Hoyas at the Sun Dome tonight. Let's take a look at the matchup.

The Hoyas will be without Greg Whittington, their second-leading scorer and rebounder, who was ruled ineligible earlier in the week. That's good news for a USF team that was outrebounded by Rutgers on Thursday night. Rutgers, who is not at all good at rebounding. Rutgers, who had elfin Jerome Seagears outrebound every single Bull except for one.

Don't be fooled by Georgetown's recent "resurgence" on offense. They scored 67 against St. John's and 74 against Providence, but they turned the tempo up in both games (71 possessions against the Red Storm, 67 against the Friars). The Hoyas are pretty mediocre overall on offense, they don't crash the offensive boards at all, and they don't shoot free throws very well. On the other hand, they're very strong defensively, they do still have a size advantage without Whittington, and their offense is one of the few that consistently makes USF's defense look bad.
