Voodoo Fivecast: The "We Fired Josh Appel" Edition

Season 2, Episode 6

This week we'd describe ourselves mediocre, as Kevin Weiss came off the bench to host the celebration of the USF win over UConn. Hey, that's a winning streak! We talk about the great effort from the defense, the continually ineffective offense, and the kick-butt kicking game.

We also welcome Jeff Odom of the Tampa Bay Times to discuss his first few months on the beat with the Bulls. Jeff talks about seeing practice every day, and Josh Appel making a fool of himself at the press conference today. Even when Appel isn't in the studio, he still makes his impact on the podcast. He's like a virus in how he never goes away.

Finally we bring in Josh Newberg of Bulls247.com for what is nothing short of an outstanding and frank discussion of the state of USF recruiting. Josh pulls no punches and is honest about the state of the program and the direction and we'd summarize it, but we really want you to listen. Outstanding stuff from him.

One of my favorite podcasts is The Basketball Jones, who rate their end-of-show on the "Kate Scale." Whereas Kevin and I of course fall in the Kate Hudson range, Newberg is absolutely a Kate Beckinsale. Otherwise... we'll try and do better the next time.

Here's Hour 1 and Hour 2 (cut short for the men's soccer game vs. SIU-Edwardsville... there's something I never thought I'd say), please enjoy!
