Why I'm A Fan of USF

During high school, I was focused on my books. I didn't start following sports until my senior year of high school. A few months after I graduated high school (September 2007) I got a call from a friend that I graduated with asking if I want to go to a USF football game. I told him yea but he told me there was a catch. We had to stand in line and wait to get tickets. So I decide to go with my friend early one morning and we wait in line Outside the Sun Dome to buy student and student guest tickets for the WVU game. So my first ever game we get to the stadium about 30 minutes before kickoff (didn't discover what tailgating was until a few years later) and this place is packed. All I see is Green and Gold EVERYWHERE!!!! After that win vs WVU I see people jump down unto the field. I didn't know what to do so I started walking the other way towards the top of the student section. I didn't know the words to any of the chants but after that game all I knew is that this is the team that I need to cheer for. That was the first game that got me hooked to USF. He also invited my to men's and women's basketball games at the Sun Dome before it was remolded. I remember paying $20 for all you could eat tickets and that was a DEAL!!!. I wish they still had those now. I have my collection of ticket stubs from old USF games. I keep telling myself to start a scrapbook and start collecting newspapers from events.

From 2007 to 2010 I was buying individual game tickets due to the fact that I had to work on the weekends. In 2011 I decided to take the plunge and buy season tickets. That's when I discovered tailgating and not a moment too soon after dealing with the Holtz New Error and the first few years of the bus, I thought I was going to become a alcoholic.

Over the years I've seen the up's (2012 Men's Basketball Season, Women's Basketball WNIT Championship, First 11 win season, #2 ranking in football) and downs (Skip Holtz, Inept Doug Woolard with his extensions, that last second loss to Syracuse at the hands of Ryan Nassib and Alec Lemon). While I have never attended USF, I will ALWAYS BLEED GREEN AND GOLD. I'm enjoying this ride and I wouldn't have it any other way.

GO BULLS!!!!
