Career profile of USF defensive end Juwuan Brown.

NCAA Football: Tulsa at South Florida Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

#56 DE Juwuan Brown - Redshirt Senior, 6’2”, 261 lbs.

2017: Appeared in all 12 games as a redshirt junior, recording nine tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble versus Cincinnati.

2016: Brown played in all 13 games. He didn’t start any, but saw regular time in the defensive end rotation. Juwuan ended the season with 17 tackles, four TFL, and 2.5 sacks. He also recovered a fumble against C. and returned it 22 yards for a touchdown.

2015 Stats: Brown was available but did not play. There were reports about conditioning problems, but we never heard for sure why he didn't get on the field. The following spring, Brown started transitioning from linebacker to defensive end.

2014 Stats: Redshirt season.

How He Came To USF: Juwuan played at nearby Jefferson High School in Tampa. He was named to the Class 6A all-state second team after a prolific (to say the least) senior season with 77 tackles, 31 tackles for loss, 12 sacks, and an interception he returned for a touchdown.

Brown had offers from Louisville, Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois, but he committed to USF in July 2013 and stuck with it even through the Bulls' awful season, all the way through to his emotional signing day ceremony.

Recruiting Rankings: Rivals and 247 gave Brown two stars. Scout and ESPN gave him three.
