College Football Week 2 Viewing Guide

New, 4 comments

You probably have better things to do today, but if you’re already prepared and riding it out at home, this may help pass the time.

FOOTBALL ACTION

Our staff has scattered from Hurricane Irma. Connor, Carl, and Josh are planning to hunker down at their respective homes. Sandy and Collin got flights out of state. Nate and his family took off for Tallahassee. And Nick, Ryan, Gary, and I don’t live there. So we’re all taking care of ourselves.

Unless you live outside an evacuation zone and you’ve already finished your hurricane prep, stop reading this post and go do that.

For everyone else... the schedule starts off pretty slow today, but there are three fantastic games tonight. Keep in mind that if you’re most places in Florida, you’ll likely have to stream any games airing on broadcast channels because local news will preempt everything for hurricane coverage. Here’s the schedule and what we’ll be watching from wherever we are:

11:00 a.m.: Irma forecast track update.

12:00 p.m.: Louisville-UNC looks like the best choice. The Cardinals looked S-H-A-K-Y against Purdue last week. Have they slipped a little, or is Purdue actually going to be decent for a change?

Oh, and there’s always El Assico.

3:30 p.m.: This could be a good time to get acquainted with conference foes. Temple plays Villanova, Tulane is at Navy, and Tulsa hosts Louisiana. You can also watch our new second-favorite team, Oregon, play Nebraska. Or you can watch TCU at Arkansas, an old Southwest Conference rivalry that gave us one of the low-key nuttiest games of 2016.

5:00 p.m. Irma forecast track update.

7:00 p.m. Auburn goes to Clemson for a barnburner.

7:30 p.m. Oklahoma goes to Ohio State for a barnburner.

8:30 p.m. Stanford goes to USC for a barnburner.

10:30 p.m. Houston at Arizona has some #Pac12AfterDark potential, as does Boise State at Washington State. Both good choices to wrap up your day, with a short break for...
