According to a source, South Florida Bulls defensive tackle Brandon Boyce is no longer with the team The Daily Stampede has learned.
Boyce, a transfer from Duke missed the first seven games of the season due to a suspension coupled with an injury. He made his USF debut against Houston and registered six tackles and 0.5 TFL in the loss.
He recorded 24 tackles (14 solo), three TFL, and one sack in just five games. It’s a blow to an already thin and inexperienced defensive line. Boyce had one more year of eligibility left.
Boyce transferred to USF before the start of the 2017 season along with fellow Blue Devil Marquis Price and both were expected to make an immediate impact along the defensive line after the graduations of Deadrin Senat and Bruce Hector. But, for one reason or another, they did not see the field much, if at all during their time in Tampa.
USF has not confirmed the departure to TDS and he is still listed on the online roster.
