We’re a little over 48 hours from USF Football’s 2018 kickoff vs. Elon on Saturday so we’ll use this day to highlight the final batch of incoming true freshman on the Green and Gold roster.
QB Jordan McCloud - Freshman, 6’0”, 180 pounds
How he came to USF: The hometown product was the final kid to pledge himself to USF during that ridiculous recruiting weekend in 2017 where 13 prospects verbally committed in five days. The younger brother of former Clemson and current Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver Ray Ray McCloud, Jordan led Tampa Plant all the way to the Class 7A semifinals as a senior, posting a stat line of 2,426 yards passing, 389 yards rushing, and 32 total touchdowns. He chose USF over offers from Boston College, Iowa State, Maryland, and Oregon among others.
Recruiting Rankings: Rated as a three-star by Rivals and 247.

OG Sebastian Sainterling - Freshman, 6’2”, 356 pounds
How he came to USF: The massive guard out of Hollywood, FL comes to USF with four high school state championship rings to show off, winning three at national powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas before helping Chaminade-Madonna Prep to a Class 3A title as a senior last year. He was just listed as the backup right guard to William Atterbury on the opening game depth chart. He courted offers from Auburn, Mississippi State, Kentucky, and Cincinnati before deciding on USF.
Racruiting Rankings: Rated as a three-star by ESPN, Rivals, and 247.

DT John Waller - Freshman, 6’4”, 342 pounds
How he came to USF: The big defensive tackle out of St. Pete continued the Admiral Farragut pipeline, committing to #Stampede18 last fall along with teammate Zion Roland. Waller chose USF over Michigan, Mississippi State, Indiana, and C.
Recruiting Rankings: Rated as a three-star by Rivals, 247, and ESPN.

RT Ethan Watson - Freshman, 6’6”, 296 pounds
How he came to USF: Straight out of Pensacola Catholic, the Panhandle offensive lineman chose USF over offers from Cincinnati, FAU, Appalachian State, and Central Arkansas. He’s listed as the backup to Marcus Norman on the opening day depth chart.
Recruiting Rankings: Rated as a three-star by 247 and Rivals.

DT Armon Williams - Freshman, 6’3”, 285 pounds
How he came to USF: Another signee out of Georgia, the Snellville South Gwinnett product posted 59 tackles, 6.5 for loss, and two sacks during his senior season before committing to USF. He also had offers from Wisconsin, Kentucky, Memphis, and Troy.
Recruiting Rankings: Rated as a three-star by 247 and a two-star by Rivals.

DT Rashawn Yates - Freshman, 6’3”, 266 pounds
How he came to USF: An Offense-Defense All-American Bowl invitee, the Port St. Lucie Treasure Coast product chose to come to Tampa over interest from Georgia Tech, Louisville, Tennessee, Pitt, and Rutgers among others. He’s listed on the game one DT depth chart along with Kevin Bronson and fellow true freshman Tyrone Barber.
