We had another line mix-up this week, but it totally wasn’t my fault.
The Peppermill Casino had North Texas, fresh off its smackdown of Arkansas, giving away no points against FBS aspirant Liberty. Several of you jumped on this, which I sadly had to disallow. Most of you have already gotten back to me with your bet changes; thanks for replying and for your understanding. The real line is currently -12, actually moving towards Liberty from -14 earlier in the week.
And how about that trolly punt return North Texas pulled off last week?
People are mad that the NCAA will outlaw this play. But they’re 100% correct to do so, for safety reasons. You can’t have players giving unclear signals whether opponents are allowed to tear their head off or not. In fact, UNT informed the referees pregame of their intent to run this play. So we’ll probably never see it again. But if not, at least it was executed brilliantly. Look how long the return man, Keegan Brewer, waits without giving away the ruse. He should major in theater, if he isn’t already.

Yeah, I need to iron it. But that beauty is from the 2001 North Texas-USF game, the first I-A opponent to visit Raymond James Stadium. It was produced by a long-defunct independent USF gear website. USF beat North Texas in 2001 and 2002. Both those North Texas teams won the Sun Belt, and went to the New Orleans Bowl. Two good early wins that don’t get as much credit as they deserve.
