Happy Turkey Day, everyone. Hope you all enjoyed family and friends, football, food, and a good night’s sleep as we go into holiday shopping season. Some of us have to work Friday, so I’m getting this article in early.
There were only three early-week games this week: two MAC games on Tuesday, and the traditional Thanksgiving Night Mississippi-Mississippi State game. Ole Miss lost in bizarre fashion, when a game-tying touchdown drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty:
To be fair, it’s not as bad as Quinton Flowers’ gesture towards the UCF fans two years ago. But the 35-yard PAT afterward was missed, giving MSU a 21-20 win, and a brutal beat to Oak1787, speruche, jrjs, and E-Dogg42. They all had Mississippi State -1.5 or -2.5, so this stunt denied them a chance at overtime, where any M-State win would also cover. Only anthonyvito had Ole Miss against the spread, winning $22.73. Hotty toddy, I guess.
speruche’s cold streak continues, losing $164.11 on two parlays so far. As of Friday morning, undercoverbull leads 3131.57 to 2864.34. On the plus side, ElliotMoore won $182 on MACtion.

Another item of business for this week: most of your pre-season bets will be settled after this week’s games end. Any money you win on the over/under win bets you made before the season will be added to your account, and you can use it for Week 15 (championship week plus Army-Navy) and Week 16 (bowl season). Any money you lose on futures has already been taken from your account, so your bankroll won’t go down. For those of you who took South Florida at to win 6.5 or more games, this is when you will officially get the bad news.
Conference Championship, Playoff, Heisman Trophy, and National Championship futures bets can’t be decided yet, though we will go ahead and set the bet to a loss of your team is eliminated. The past bets section of your Dashboard will show your futures bets, and the status of each (look for Week 0).
Futures bets won’t appear to upset the standings too much, though a lot of you did bet big on Cincinnati to win 7.5 games, which they did easily. dsidwell31 bet the maximum on this and will win $120. Cincinnati to win the conference, another popular bet, is also still in play: BullsOnParade will win $225 if it comes in. I think those are the biggest futures wins still possible.
