Brown was lethal behind the arc in Saturday’s eight-point victory over the Tigers, knocking down a career-high five three’s.
The sophomore stepped up in 26 minutes to finish Saturday’s game as one of three Bulls in double digits, alongside guards LaQuincy Rideau and David Collins. Brown shot 7-for-10 on the afternoon, including 5-for-8 from behind the three-point line. The Birmingham native also pulled down a defensive rebound.
Brown hit back-to-back threes early in the game to give the Bulls a 12-0 lead that quickly ballooned to 19-0 before the Tigers scored their first point of the game.
Following Saturday’s game, Brown rose to fourth in the AAC in three-point field goal percentage, shooting at a 41.3% clip.
USF (15-6, 5-4 AAC) travels to Dallas on Thursday to take on former Bull Jahmal McMurray and the SMU Mustangs (12-9, 4-5 AAC). Tip is at 9 p.m. on ESPNU.
