Another USF football returnee received preseason recognition on Tuesday with senior offensive tackle Marcus Norman being named to the Outland Trophy Watch List for a second year in a row.

Named for late 19th century lineman John Henry Outland, the award is given annually to best interior lineman in the nation.

A seasoned veteran in the trenches, Norman enters the 2019 season with 34 consecutive starts. Helping clear the paths for the likes of Johnny Ford and 1,000-yard rusher Jordan Cronkrite last season, he was named third-team all-conference by Phil Steele.

The Sebastian product has shown his skills in the classroom as well, having been named to the AAC All-Academic Team twice. He has already graduated with a degree in Information Security and is currently working on his master’s.
