Former Miami Hurricanes walk-on Augie DeBiase has transferred to USF per his Twitter and Instagram accounts. Sources with knowledge of the situation have confirmed that he has joined the team.

DeBiase was a former two-star QB coming out of Raines high school in Jacksonville, Florida where he threw for 105 career TDs. For his college decision, he chose to take a preferred walk-on spot at Miami instead of going to Virginia Tech or Indiana on scholarship. He ended up redshirting his freshman year, where he primarily played on the practice squad.

He transferred to JUCO Tyler College last season where he became the starting signal-caller for the Apaches before an injury knocked him out of the starting line up. He completed 51% of his passes for 793 yards, four touchdowns and four interceptions. He also added three rushing touchdowns.

After QB Octavious Battle announced his transfer from USF, and Jahquez Evans had minor surgery on his ankle in late June (confirmed by Coach Charlie Strong on The Bulluminati Podcast), the QB room was missing depth.

His film from last season at Tyler College is below. He showed good touch on the deep ball and isn’t afraid to try to thread the needle.
