Star Forward Evelyne Viens is making a return appearance on the MAC Hermann after being on the watch list last year, where she became the first player in USF Women’s soccer history to be named an All-American in 2017.
Her 2018 campaign saw her crush numerous USF records and stamp her name on top of two NCAA Statistical categories. Her records at USF include (and not limited to): goals in a season (20), points in a season (47) and goals in a career (48 and counting). She lead the NCAA in points per game and goals per game, 2.47 and 1.02 respectively, leading the way to a second straight appearance on an All-American list and being named AAC Offensive Player of the Year.
All-conference midfielder Andrea Hauksdottir is a debutant to the MAC Hermann watch list, a well-deserved accolade after her stellar 2018 season with the Bulls. The reigning American Conference Midfielder of the Year started all 19 games for USF and lead the team in minutes played (1,632). She was an integral part of the offensive attack, getting seven assist and five goals, helping USF lead the nation with 2.84 goals per game.
Semifinalists (15 men, 15 women) will be announced on Tuesday, December 3rd, and finalists (3 men, 3 women) will be announced Friday, Dec. 13. The winners will be declared on Friday, January 10th at the Hermann Trophy Press Conference and Awards Banquet in St. Louis, Missouri.
USF Women’s Soccer kicks off exhibition play on Aug. 13 at Stetson, followed by North Texas on Aug. 16. Their regular season starts with two tough matches against Auburn on Aug. 22 and Florida on Aug. 25 at Corbett Stadium.
