It’s almost October! And, conference season. 40 of this week’s 55 games are intra-conference games, and there are only three games involving FCS opponents.
There’s been a lot of line movement this week. For example, Connecticut was an underdog by 41 points at the beginning of the week, but are now up to 44.5. This can result in players getting different point spreads on the same game, depending upon what the line was when they placed the bet.
There are already several such games this week; even players betting on the same team vary by as much as 3 points. This can lead to situations where the same bet wins for one person and loses for another, if the result comes down in the middle.
In fact, this has already happened, in the Thursday night game. BullsOnParade96, ElliotMoore, and Speruche had Memphis -12, while Andrewpina and lrdnorman had Navy plus only 10.5. The final score was 35-23, so the bets on Memphis pushed while the ones on Navy lost. One point can make all the difference.
Of course, you can also take advantage of this by going for a “split” or “middle” bet. (See the Gambollllll Glossary.) For example, if the line is initially Team A -20, and you bet that team, and the line moves to Team B +24, you can bet that team also and hope the result is in between. If it is, you win both bets; if not, you win one bet and lose the other for only a small loss. PYU allows this; you can make any combination of bets you want, as long as you have the bankroll to do so.
