The South Florida Bulls will attempt once again for their first conference win this season as they head to Houston today to take on the Cougars. USF nearly pulled off a massive upset last week in Memphis, but can the Bulls put that pain behind them to compete in this game?

The last time USF came off a close loss (Temple 39-37), they promptly got their teeth kicked in by Tulsa the next week. Hopefully head coach Jeff Scott and his crew have figured out a way to stay competitive the week after a heartbreaker.

Quarterback Noah Johnson didn’t make the trip to Houston after making his first career start for USF last week. He had an overall good game for the Bulls last week, throwing for over 200 yards, and most importantly committing zero turnovers which has been a major issue for that position this year.

Looks like QB Jordan McCloud could be in line for the start. Katravis Marsh is also back in the fold after missing time due to a concussion.

For USF to compete, they need to do things they did for 55 minutes last week: Be aggressive, create turnovers, and take chances. On the Cougars’ 40-yard line and it’s fourth down? GO FOR IT.

While the defense registered two sacks last week, the final two drives from Memphis last week showed there’s still a lot of work to be done in that area. USF needs to muddy up the pocket for Clayton Tune, or he will pick the defense apart just like every other QB has this year.

Houston will likely be without star receiver Marquez Stevenson, but they still have plenty of options to beat you. USF will be without RB Johnny Ford, who is in COVID-19 protocol due to contact tracing.

Final road game of the season, lay it all out today boys.

Go Bulls!
