Protect Your Unit Week 9 Results Thread

Halloween was Hallo-win for many of our players.

Ohio State v Penn State
On Halloween night, Penn State refused to give Ohio State candy. Ohio State showed them this trick, and also beat them 38-25.

A few items of note to start:

  • The bowl game schedule has been announced. It runs from December 19 to January 2, with the national championship game on January 11, as is typical. However, regular-season games will be played as late as December 19. So at least one bowl game (the AAC-aligned Frisco Bowl) will overlap with the last week of the regular season. I will handle this by letting the Frisco Bowl count towards minimums for both Week 16 and the bowl season.
  • MAC and Pac-12 game start this week. Also, all the MAC games are on Wednesday, so get your MACtion bets in early.
  • Please remember to make 3 bets and one AAC bet every week, unless your bankroll is below $250, or you are using a bye week. This is a technical requirement, and occasionally people forget to do it.
  • McIntyre2K7 lost his last $194 in fake money on a heartbreaking parlay loss. He nailed Oklahoma-Texas Tech, but Western Kentucky-BYU missed the over by 2 points. The parlay win would have been worth $1,164, which would have moved him into fourth place overall. He may now make a sudden death bet as per the longstanding rule. I will put $1 into his account so he may enter a choice into the website. It must be a point spread bet on an AAC game, and the bet must be won (not pushed) to get an extra $500 bankroll.

All the contenders had good weeks, but leader speruche still had a better week than most, extending his large lead. And he missed another $600 parlay win by half a point on the Clemson-Boston College total. ElliotMoore puts some distance between himself and the other contenders for second place, but still has a lot of ground to make up to challenge for first.
