Well, folks, we’ve made it to the final month of the season. What a long, strange trip it’s been. Mostly bad, but interesting nonetheless.
The quarterback position remains in flux weeks after the “due date” for a QB1 set by head coach Jeff Scott. Starting safety Nick Roberts was dismissed/left during the open week. No one has stepped up along the defensive line.
Scott said this week that the last four weeks of the season will be used to figure out who is going to be a part of the foundation of the program going forward. Freshman receiver Omarion Dollison has made his impact known. Latrell Williams has also proven why the former coaching staff was so high on him. Outside of that, everything on offense is up in the air.
We think Noah Johnson gets the start this week. Which is fine. But, give him the entire game. Good or bad. Allow him (or whomever gets the start) to figure it out. If you get blown out, so be it. You were likely going to anyway. The yo-yo of the quarterbacks isn’t going to do anyone any good in the long term.
Play fast, loose, and take risks. You’re not going to beat Memphis straight up. USF will need to steal some possessions, cause some chaos, and finally find a pass rush that flusters 18th year QB Brady White. If Glenn Spencer and company can’t get pressure, White will have a career day against this secondary, which has significantly underperformed expectations.
Come hang out with us. Go Bulls!
