Look Ahead: Who are USF’s Opponents Playing This Week?

After a thrilling rivalry game between SMU and Houston, SMU’s undefeated season has ended.

Week nine proved to USF fans that there’s still a good bit of work to do before the Bulls truly turn the corner. A rainy and sloppy Thursday game against ECU with a backup QB at the helm resulted in a 29-14 loss against the Pirates. A combined seven turnovers between the two schools, and none more costly than a third quarter pick 6 gave ECU the lead for good.

Elsewhere in the American, Friday night gave us vintage Navy football, as they rallied past Tulsa 20-17 after completing zero passes and rushing for 302 yards. C. put on the burners against a downtrodden Temple team, dismissing the Owls 49-7. Cincinnati and Tulane were in a rock fight in the first half, with the Bearcats leading only 14-12 at the break. However, the number two team in the country came alive in the second half, winning 31-12 to remain perfect and keep their CFP hopes alive. And finally, SMU and Houston gave us a thriller for the ages, with Houston upsetting the undefeated Mustangs 44-37, thanks to a walk-off kick return for a touchdown by Marcus Jones. USF should absolutely not kick to Marcus Jones this week.
