#GregoryGets: Pike High School (Indiana) ‘22 Combo Guard Ryan Conwell Commits to USF Men’s Basketball

A top 50 combo guard in the nation commits to play for the Bulls

NCAA Basketball: South Florida at Houston Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

With a stacked offer sheet of 17 schools, head coach Brian Gregory and assistant coach Larry Dixon had to fend off some hot schools in their pursuit to get Ryan Conwell’s pledge. That pursuit paid off when Conwell committed to play for USF men’s basketball on Sunday.

Pike High School, Indianapolis, Indiana

Recruiting Rankings: three-star by 247, three-star by Rivals.

Other Notable Offers: Virginia Tech, Xavier, Murray State, App State, Wichita State

Conwell has quickly become one of the hottest names in the Indiana basketball circuit this past summer, getting his first D1 offer in late June and the offers did not stop for the combo guard. His junior season stats at Pike high school saw him average 16.4 points per game, 2.7 assists per game, and 4.3 rebounds per game. His productivity skyrocketed in the AAU circuit with the Eric Gordon (EG10) All-Stars 2022, including a 33 point performance hitting 7 three-pointers while a USF staffer was present.

Conwell becomes the first commit from the class of 2022 for the Bulls, and the staff did an excellent job locking down a commitment as quickly as they offered him. With the bevy of transfers and new faces surrounding the USF men’s basketball progrum, Coach Gregory will have one more scholarship spot open for this class of 2022 (barring any attrition or transfers out).
