The South Florida Bulls fell 45-31 to the Tulane Green Wave on Saturday on USF’s Homecoming inside Raymond James Stadium. It was the first USF home game in nearly 40 days.
The Bulls took a 14-10 lead midway through the second quarter on a 33-yard touchdown rush from quarterback Gerry Bohanon. But, the wheels fell off there after Bohanon injured his right shoulder, and did not return to the game.
Prior to leaving the game, Bohanon had thrown for 109 yards, a touchdown, and added 59 yards, and the 33-yard score to boot.
USF’s defense gave up 564 yards of offense, capped by Michael Pratt’s 326 yards passing, and two touchdowns.
There’s not doubt the game flipped after Bohanon’s injury. The Bulls had just forced a punt, and Bohanon had gained eight yards on a keeper before leaving the game for good with the injury. USF led 14-10 when Bohanon was hurt, and ended up 35-17 without GB.
USF will take a much needed bye week this week as much as 18 scholarship players missed this week. To cap the Season From Hell, DE Jonathan Ross dropped a weight on his fingers today and missed the game with a broken hand.
USF clearly didn’t poop the bed, which is a start...I suppose...
