After a lot of speculation and rumors, USF and Adidas have unveiled new uniforms for USF’s 2022-2023 football season. The Bulls released a teaser video last Friday using cameos from George Selvie and Matt Grothe, hinting towards a ‘classic’ look uniform with a touch of modern flair.

The social media team didn’t waste much time on Monday to release them, with the tagline “Getting back to who we are” and videos of highlights from the mid-2000s victories over West Virginia and Auburn to show bits and pieces of the uniform.

Major pain points from the fan base were addressed and taken care of:

  • No more gold foil numbers
  • Iconic U used above the numbers on the jersey rather than USF or South Florida
  • Return of the Oversized U on the helmet
  • No pant stripes
  • No tire tread detail on the jersey

It’s a return to the look that put USF on the map. Where a swarm and attack defense punished progrums like Florida State, Cincinnati, and Notre Dame, but provides some modern pizzazz from the recent success when Quinton Flowers was quarterbacking the Bulls. It’s a simple design, steering away from the 2019 look that polarized much of the fan base.

Alternate uniforms will be announced during the season (as they traditionally are teased and unveiled the week before games such as the Military appreciation, homecoming, and War on I-4 games), but for now the fan base can unite and celebrate the progrum getting the little details right on the base uniform set.
