2013 NFL Draft: USF CB Kayvon Webster Selected By Denver Broncos In Round 3

The USF cornerback is the first former Bull selected in this year's draft.

USA TODAY Sports

Kayvon Webster is the first former South Florida Bull off the draft board. The Denver Broncos took Webster in the third round, with the 90th overall pick.

With this pick, USF has now had a total of 20 players drafted by the NFL. Webster is the eighth former Bull to be chosen in the first three rounds, all since 2003.

I think we're all a bit surprised that Kayvon was taken this early. While he has some skills that are worth working with, namely his 4.41 speed and tackling ability, he didn't produce a whole lot (only three interceptions in his USF career) and he had his share of issues in last year's train wreck of a secondary. In a draft stocked with finished players in the middle rounds, this may be a bit early to take on someone who will likely be a project in the NFL.

But good for Kayvon, though. He has speed to burn, and he can definitely contribute on special teams while the Broncos groom him to play in the secondary.
