USF Guards Mike Burwell And Shedrick Haynes Find New Homes

We wondered where USF guards Mike Burwell and Shedrick Haynes would end up after declaring their intentions to leave after the season, and with the end of the spring semester we finally know where they are going.

Greg Auman reported on Monday that Haynes would be heading to Division II power Tarleton State, which is about an hour southwest of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. The Texans finished 17th in the final DII rankings this season, and has been the top team in the Lone Star Conference (TEXAS!) over the past decade. It looks like Haynes will be replacing outgoing senior Corin Henry, who led TSU with 14.1 PPG this season.

Jeff Goodman from FoxSports.com had the scoop this morning on Burwell, who will be heading to Towson University with new head coach Pat Skerry. The former Pitt assistant has his hands full at TU, who is coming off a horrible 4-25 season in the Colonial Athletic Association. Burwell will have more than a chance to earn minutes in 2012, as there are only three scholarship guards on the roster at this time. Incoming freshman and former USF target Kelvin Amayo will most likely start at the point for the Tigers, so Burwell will have his opportunity at the other two guard positions.

We wish both Mike and Shedrick the best of luck at their new schools and hope they do well.
