2016 Guard Andres Feliz Commits to USF Basketball

The Bulls will (likely) get their second commit of the class of 2016.

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Some good news for Orlando Antigua and the USF basketball team today, as combo guard Andres Feliz announced his commitment to USF. Feliz is currently a member of the class of 2017, but he's planning to reclassify and graduate next year. This would be USF's second commitment of the 2016 class after forward Troy Baxter, who happens to be Feliz's AAU teammate.

There's not too much out there on Feliz, so we'll be digging around the next few days to get you some more info. Here's what we do know: he played for Oliver Antigua and the Dominican Republic team in the U19 World Championships and was the leading scorer, averaging 18.9 points and 3.7 assists over seven games. He goes to West Oaks Academy in Orlando, where he's received some interest from the likes of Louisville, Missouri, and Miami and was given three stars from Scout. Here's a very brief highlight reel of Feliz in AAU play:

It seems like the 6'2", 180 lb. guard would likely run the point at USF-- he's mentioned that he sees himself as the team's point guard of the future-- but he's got a decent scoring touch and a knack for finishing around the rim. If everything holds steady (it never does), USF's 2016 team looks something like this:

PG - Roddy Peters (Jr.), Andres Feliz (Fr.)
SG - Troy Holston (So./Jr./ :( ), Geno Thorpe (Jr.), Jahmal McMurray (So.)
SF - Bo Zeigler (Jr.), Troy Baxter (Fr.)
PF - Chris Perry (Sr.), Luis Santos (So.), Tulio Da Silva (So.)
C - Ruben Guerrero (Jr.)

But Ryan, you're extrapolating so far into the future! The 2015 season hasn't even started yet!

Shhhhhh. Look at that lineup. Tell me you're not excited for the future of this team. Just make it through 2015.

But--

THERE IS ONLY ONE SENIOR IN THAT LINEUP. USF 2017 NCAA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.
