#39 DB Trent Shaw

2015 Stats: Shaw redshirted last year.
Position on Depth Chart: Trent is not listed on the post-spring depth chart.
How He Came To USF: Trent played free safety and cornerback at Lutz's Steinbrenner High School. He made a total of 80 tackles, intercepted three passes, defensed nine passes, and caused a fumble in his two years with the Warriors. Shaw also played shooting guard on the basketball team. He walked on to the USF program last year.
Here is Shaw's senior year highlight reel. Looks like he might have also picked off a two-point conversion pass and taken it coast to coast for two points the other way.
Recruiting Rankings: There is a Trent Shaw in the 2015 recruiting databases, but it's not USF's Trent Shaw. He was unrated.
Projected Playing Time: Probably not much, although he does have very good size for a defensive back. (At 6'2", Shaw matches Lamar Robbins and Tajee Fullwood as USF's tallest DBs.) Since the Bulls have a lot of young, talented cornerbacks and he doesn't have blazing speed, his best shot might be as a safety.

Did You Know: Shaw is only the second player from Steinbrenner on a USF football roster -- not surprising since the school was founded in 2009. If he gets on the field this year, he'll be the first one to play in a game. The only other Warrior to appear on a USF roster was reserve punter Mike Ruggles last year after he had transferred home from UTEP, possibly out of embarrassment.
