Voodoo Get Together, Let's Try Something Here

Hey Bulls fans, your volleyball team is 2-0 in the Big East!  That's a good thing!  The bad news is I had to pay $11 to stream some of the five home matches I missed while on the road the last two weekends.  Didn't think moving back to Tampa would have me actually seeing LESS matches this year than last, but I digress.

And tomorrow night the Bulls are taking on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, so you know what that means?  No, not heckling the Catholics about Bishop Long or the Crusades, but a good reason to get together and have a few beverages before heading over to support USF's only undefeated team in conference play right now (sorry, football, 0-0 doesn't count).

So we're going to try something different here at Voodoo, and have a little get together at Gators Dockside on Fowler Ave. at 5pm on Friday, then herd all the Bulls over to The Corral for the 7pm match.  We'll have some door prizes for those that can make it, and hopefully a chance to put a face with some of the names.  I'm sure we can get a few USF Volleyball people out there as well.

We'll do something around a men's basketball game later this season as well, but we're reticent to do it around football because so many people already have their tailgating ritual set in stone.  So we'll start with this and see where it leads down the road.

Again, this might fail spectacularly.  It might be us and a couple friends doing shots in the corner to hide the pain that is our lives.  Or it might be the hottest place to be in Tampa, with velvet ropes and security guys that look like Vin Diesel and Kimbo Slice,  as well as a really good time.  You never know.  So show up, and either have a blast or laugh at our collective self-loathing.
