USF-Florida A&M Preview, Or This Will Look A Lot Like Football

Your USF Bulls (5-4) are back in action after taking a week off as they face the Florida A&M Rattlers (2-7) this afternoon at the University of Tampa's Bob Martinez Center. Game is scheduled for 2:00 PM and will be aired regionally on Bright House Sports Network. If you can't get in front of a TV or your computer, Jim Lighthall and Todd Kalas will have the call for you on 1250 WHNZ. Here are your probable starting lineups for tonight.

F 6'8" Ron Anderson Jr.

Let's just be honest, Florida A&M is a horrible basketball team. The Rattlers have been blown out of almost every game against Division 1 opponents, and only loss within 16 points is against fellow doormat Southern. Their two wins are against NAIA opponents Southeastern and Allen. While they do have a couple of pieces in Reggie Lewis (11.0 PTS/3.1 REB), Yannick Crowder 10.9 PTS/7.3 REB/1.8 BLK), and Brandon Hosley (10.0 PTS/3.0 STL/2.0 AST/1.7 REB), there just aren't enough pieces for FAMU to compete right now.

Florida A&M will run and press all night to try to combat this and will rotate as many people out to wear down the opposition, but this hasn't helped much this year, and probably won't work today. Even with FAMU forcing a ton of turnovers (almost 19 turnovers a game), they turn the ball over just as much. Add to the fact that they're horrible shooting the ball (27% from 3-PT%, 60% FT%), can't rebound (--8 rebounding margin), and horrible on the defensive side of the ball (45% FG%), and it should mean an easy USF victory today.
