USF could not capitalize on a strong pitching performance by Sara Nevins as the USF Bulls lost to the Louisville Cardinals 2-0 in the first round of the Big East Tournament. USF could only muster two singles off of Jr. LHP Tori Collins, who looked as good as she was last season.

The game was at a scoreless draw until the Top of the 6th inning, when Katie Keller's sacrifice fly brought in pinch runner Tesha Paysen for a 1-0 lead. The Cardinals grabbed an insurance run in the Top of the 7th when Colby Wherry's solo home run gave Louisville a 2-0 lead.

Nevins had a solid performance in the circle, giving up 4 hits and striking out 10 and walking none in the loss.

Louisville will take on top seeded Notre Dame in the semifinals after the Fighting Irish defeated the Providence Friars 6-4 earlier in the day.

The Bulls are squarely on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament, and right now it doesn't look good. Graham Hays of ESPN is the only person out with a softball bracketology out there, and he currently has the Bulls as the 3rd team as of this morning. The only way we will know for sure is when the brackets are officially released on the 15th.
