Stampeding Through The Roster: #98 DE Brandon Wilkinson

We are on day two of our look at the USF roster, and after highlighting Marvin Kloss, we are on to #98.

#98 DE Brandon Wilkinson

Redshirt Freshman, 6'3" 228 lb

Stats in 2010: None. Brandon redshirted last season due to the insane amount of depth at DE and learned from seniors David Bedford and Craig Marshall.

Current Spot on Depth Chart: Wilkinson is not listed on the pos- spring depth chart.

How did he come to USF: Wilkinson came to USF via Venice High School, where he racked up 70 tackles and 15 sacks his senior season. For his efforts, Wilkinson was named to the Class 5A second team.

Recruiting Rankings: Brandon was a three-star prospect and the 54th best DE prospect in the country according to Scout. Wilkinson chose USF over offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky, and Purdue.

Projected Playing Time for 2011: Wilkinson will be relegated to special teams and mop up duty this season at DE. He plays at one of the deepest positions on the roster, and Brandon is still a year away from contributing. He is a little on the light side at 228, but has already gained 16 pounds since arriving on campus, and should add on another 10-15 this season. Wilkinson is extremely quick off the edge, and should contribute with the first team by the time 2012 rolls around.

Now that Terrell McClain is a Carolina Panther, there's currently no #97 on the roster, so we will see you on Monday.
