Stampeding Through The Roster: #95 DT Todd Chandler

After only having defensive ends and kickers so far on the countdown, we finally get to our first DT.

#95 Todd Chandler

Redshirt freshman, 6'0" 308 lbs.

Stats in 2010: None. Todd redshirted in his first year at USF while hitting the weight room and learning the defense.

Current Spot on Depth Chart: Chandler is currently listed second on the post-spring depth chart along with Luke Sager at nose tackle.

How did he come to USF: Todd signed to USF directly out of powerhouse Miami Northwestern HS. Chandler was originally a Miami commit, but changed his mind before signing day and chose the Bulls over Louisville in one of Skip Holtz's first signing-day surprises.

Recruiting Rankings: According to, Chandler was rated as a three-star recruit and was the 37th best defensive tackle prospect in the country in 2010.

Projected Playing Time for 2011: Todd should see some action at nose tackle this year. Cory Grissom is entrenched as the starter at NT, but Chandler will have a chance to work his way into the tackle rotation this year with Terrell McClain off to the NFL and Anthony Hill moving to defensive end. Chandler will have to fight off incoming freshman Elkino Watson for reps on the two-deep, but if he has a strong fall practice, you could see Todd solidify himself all alone on the second team.
