Big news coming right before SuperBull, as Josh Newberg of Noles247.com is reporting that North Marion High School tight end Sean Price has committed to Skip Holtz and USF. The 6'4", 220 lb. prospect from Citra, FL chose USF over offers from Miami, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, and Notre Dame.
Sean is by far the highest rated prospect in the Bulls' 2012 recruiting class (not counting Chris Dunkley of course). Rivals lists Price as a four-star prospect and the #5 tight end in the class of 2012. 24/7 also has Price as a four-star and rank him as the #6 TE.
Holtz and OC Todd Fitch have been active this recruiting season trying to land a tight end, and they hit the jackpot with Price. Sean has great hands, is an excellent route runner, and has great speed for his size. He will have to work on his strength a little bit with run blocking, but that won't be an issue once he gets in the weight room with Coach Golden.
I'd expect Sean to compete for playing time as soon as he steps on campus in 2012, and once he gets on the field he'll be a matchup problem for most Big East defenses. He is quicker than most linebackers, but Price's size will also create havoc in the defensive backfield.
Price is USF's 5th commitment of the 2012 recruiting class.
After the jump we have a highlight video of Price.
Welcome to USF Sean!
