#92 DT Luke Sager

Redshirt Sophomore, 6'3", 276 lbs.

Stats in 2010: Played in 12 of 13 games last season, mostly on special teams. Recorded one tackle.

Current Spot on Depth Chart: Luke is currently listed second on the post-spring depth chart along with Todd Chandler at Nose Tackle.

How did he come to USF: Sager signed with USF after starring for Niceville High School, in the Florida panhandle. Sager chose USF over NC State and Iowa State.

Recruiting Rankings: Scout listed Sager as a two-star recruit listed Sager as a two-Star recruit and the 138th best DE prospect in the country. Rivals had Luke as a three-star recruit and the 54th best DE prospect.

Projected Playing Time for 2011: Sager's climb up the depth chart has been a slow one since coming to Tampa, but it looks like Luke will finally be able to make his mark on defense this year. Luke will have to fight off Chandler and incoming freshman Elkino Watson for reps on the two-deep, but has finally put on enough weight to be effective in the interior. Sager should at the very least be in the rotation by the time fall camp rolls around, and should see some playing time behind Cory Grissom and Keith McCaskill.
