There was some disappointing news at the end of today's practice session when Coach Skip Holtz told the media that Senior WR Faron Hornes has left the program as he is ineligible to attend the university.
Faron was used as a backup slot receiver and last season, but participated in all 13 games. Faron had 11 receptions for 135 yards and a touchdown last year. Faron's biggest play while at USF was his 70 yard touchdown reception against Cincinnati which turned the game and probably the season around.
With Lindsey Lamar, Victor Marc, and Joel Miller all competing with Hornes at the slot, it would have been difficult for Faron to see the field this year.
Faron is the third player to leave the team during fall camp, joining defensive end Brandon Wilkinson (transfer), and running back Dontae Aycock (left program).
We wish Faron the best of luck in the future and hope he does well wherever he lands.
