I love this time of year. Campus is alive again with the students moving back on campus. Everyone has their brand new Our Shirts they bought from the Bookstore. Classes are starting up, which means EVERYONE will be there so they won't be dropped (This also means you have to arrive at 6 AM to find a parking spot.) And the fall sports are slowly making their way out of the gate. Awesome times all around. Let's see what's going on this week on Fowler Avenue.
Men's Soccer:
Rowdies Cup HOME: Tampa on Tuesday, August 23 at 7:30 PM at the Corbett Soccer Stadium
AWAY: Wake Forest on Saturday, August 27 at 7:00 PM in Winston-Salem, NC
Coach Keifer and the #24 men's soccer team finish off their exhibition season Tuesday when they host the Tampa Spartans for the latest installment of the Rowdies Cup. The match will be the first game in the brand new Corbett Soccer Stadium, named after Cornellia Corbett, who used to own the Rowdies in their post-NASL days.
The Half-Hoops then open the regular season against #22 Wake Forest. This will be a good test for the team as they start the 2011 season.
Women's Soccer:
HOME: Indiana on Friday, August 26 at 7:30 PM at the Corbett Soccer Stadium
HOME: Alabama A&M on Sunday, August 28 at 1:00 PM at the Corbett Soccer Stadium
Coach Denise Schilte-Brown and the women's soccer team looks to rebound from the season-opening loss to UCF as they take on Indiana and Alabama A&M at the Corbett Soccer Stadium.
Volleyball:
AWAY: New Mexico on Thursday, August 25 at 7:30 PM in Albuquerque, NM
AWAY: New Mexico State on Friday, August 26 at 5:00 PM in Albuquerque, NM
Coach Claire Lessinger and the Volleyball team start off the season in The Land of Enchantment as they participate in the New Mexico Invite.
