Stampeding Through The Roster: #6 CB Kayvon Webster

Six Days! Today we meet a player who is ready to step up as a fulltime starter this season.

#6 CB Kayvon Webster

Junior, 5'11", 196 lbs.

Stats In 2010: Kayvon started in all 13 games last season, starting in 4 of them. Playing mostly as the team's nickelback, Webster had 29 tackles on the season, including 1 TFL.

Current Position On Depth Chart: Kayvon was listed as a starting cornerback opposite Quenton Washington on the post-spring depth chart.

How He Came To USF: Kayvon comes to USF from Monsignor Pace High School in Opa-locka, Florida, just on the outskirts of Miami. Webster starred at both football and track for the Spartans and was teammates with fellow Bulls Sterling Griffin and Derrick Hopkins. Kayvon chose USF over offers from Auburn, Florida, Miami, LSU, and West Virginia among many others.

Recruiting Rankings: Both Rivals and Scout rated Kayvon as a 3-Star safety recruit. Rivals rated Webster as the 28th best safety prospect and Scout had Webster as the 29th best safety prospect in the Class of 2009.

Projected Playing Time In 2011: After spending the last two seasons as the team's nickelback and 3rd corner, Kayvon will get his shot to start this year. With a high number of teams running a pass heavy spread on the schedule this year, Kayvon will need to play extremely well if the Bulls have a shot at winning the conference this season.
