Sure, it would be easy to write up the first recipe we could find that includes Irish whiskey and call it a day, since it's Notre Dame and all. But I took it another step in honor of Mike Brey's glacial, ironically named offensive sets. It's a hot beverage, which should help tide you all over during another frigid 60-degree winter evening in Tampa. (This recipe comes from TheBar.com.)
BURNING BUSH
1.5 oz. Bushmills Original Irish Whiskey (or whatever you have available)
1 oz. honey
3 oz. hot water
1 lemon wedge plucked with cloves
- Place lemon wedge in toddy glass.
- Pour Bushmills Original and honey over lemon.
- Fill with hot water.
Not too hot, though. You don't want to use scalding water and have this happen to you.
