USF 64, Georgia 53: Bulls Beat Bulldogs

The Bulls returned to the Sun Dome and took care of business in the Big East vs. SEC Challenge.

US PRESSWIRE

The Bulls faced off against the Georgia Bulldogs as part of the SEC vs. Big East Challenge and the Bulls were ready for it.

In the first half, the two teams battled each other on the defensive side, keeping the score low and valuing each possession. The Bulls had a 27 to 22 lead at the half, reminding all the USF fans of the low scoring games from last season that brought this team success.

In the second half, the two sides exchanged shots and the Bulldogs, using an 8-0 run, cut the lead for USF down to just one point at about 10 minutes left in the half. USF responded, taking smart shots, working the clock and were able to grind out the win, just like last season.

Anthony Collins, after missing the last game while he rested his calf, went off for 17 points and 10 assists in the victory, making some clutch shots late. Toarlyn Fitzpatrick had 13 points. Victor Rudd, after a cold start, finished the night with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Shaun Noriega had 15 points (huge game for him). JAWANZA Poland had just 5 points off the bench in the win.

The Bulls won the rebounding game, but just 27 to 25 as both sides struggled to pull down the rock.

USF now at 5-2 will hit the road on December 5th to take on Oklahoma State in Stillwater.
