USF Holds Off Eckerd 74-65 In Men's Basketball Exhibition Game

Not exactly a confidence-inspiring win, but USF defeats the Tritons in an exhibition on Monday night.

Mark Konezny-US PRESSWIRE

Victor Rudd led four USF players in double figures as the Bulls struggled past Division II Eckerd 74-65 on Monday night in an exhibition game at the Sun Dome.

Rudd had 14 points, and Toarlyn Fitzpatrick and newcomer JaVontae Hawkins scored 13 apiece. JAWANZA! (it's good to have that meme back) scored 10 and led the Bulls with eight rebounds.

I don't know if anyone other than Mike was at the game, so we're going to depend on you all to tell us what you saw in the comments. There were some positives, like holding Eckerd to 38% shooting, only nine turnovers, and 17 assists on 26 made shots. But there were a few causes for concern just from reading the box score:

- Getting outrebounded by a D-II team
- 3-for-19 from three-point range
- 14 missed free throws
- Anthony Collins only playing 22 minutes, which we found out later was because he's nursing a calf injury and may not be completely ready for the UCF game on Saturday

What did you all see?
