Stampeding Through The USF Football Roster: The History Of #79

No one has claimed Chaz Hine's #79 yet on this year's roster, so today we'll take a quick look at him and the other two players to ever wear the number for USF.


- Kevin Christian (1997-2000): A member of the O.G. Played at Bayshore High School in Bradenton before joining the inaugural USF practice team in 1996. Backed up the offensive line at both tackle and guard during his Bulls career.

- Levi Newton (2001-04): Newton joined the Bulls from Jacksonville's Trinity Christian High School. Another mainstay at tackle who played in 40 out of 44 games, and started all 33 games in his last three seasons. Levi then found his way onto the Detroit Lions practice squad for a season. Also played a season in NFL Europe.

- Chaz Hine (2007-11): Renaissance man, second-team Academic All-American, magna cum laude graduate from the USF Honors College, operatic tenor, and one of the best offensive linemen in USF history, with 37 starts at guard. Came from Lithia's Newsome High School and recently signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. giving him a chance to join Ryan Benjamin and Tyrone McKenzie as the only former Bulls to play for the Bucs in an NFL game.
