Stampeding Through The Roster: #60 OG Danous Estenor

If we're running a picture of a 1990 Cadillac Seville, then you know exactly which player we're covering in the countdown.

We already covered #61, so it's on to the next player, who's one of USF's best-known players off the field and a key contributor on it.

#60 OG Danous Estenor
Senior, 6'3", 304 lbs.

Stats in 2011: Started all 12 games at left guard, and saved one life by lifting 3,500 pounds of car off a guy. One was far more important than the other, and it wasn't the football.

Current Spot on Depth Chart: Estenor had an ankle injury during spring practice, and injured players never appear on the depth chart. But as long as he's healthy in the fall, he should be the starter at either left or right guard.

How Did He Come to USF: Estenor played at Palm Beach Central High School, where he started at tackle for three years, made the Class 6A all-state third team in 2007, and also played some basketball. (So if he ever wanted to step up from folk hero to near-legendary status, he'd just have to walk on to Stan Heath's team and get into a 25-point rout one night. Forget the Human Victory Cigar... he could be the Human Victory Dynamite.)

Recruiting Rankings: Got two stars from both Scout and Rivals in the class of 2008.

Projected Playing Time for 2012: No matter what the depth chart says now, Estenor will be playing extensively when the games begin in September, as long as his injury is healed. The offensive line was maybe USF's strongest position last year, and Danous was a big part of that.
