After beating 12th ranked Louisville just four days ago, the USF Bulls returned home and continued their late season magic, beating 22nd ranked Syracuse 68 to 66. The Bulls, now 19-7 (8-5) on the year, battled back from a 13-point deficit at one point, to get another huge win to add to their resume late in the season.

The Bulls were down at the half, but they did not let that stop them as they locked down on defense and continued to attack the basket and never giving up. USF outscored the Orange on second chance points, winning the battle 20 to 9 and out-rebounded the Orange 43 to 35. Alisia Jenkins had 6 points, 4 rebounds, and one huge block in the closing seconds of the game that gave the Bulls a huge stop on defense. Akila McDonald added 7 rebounds as well in the paint. Andrell Smith had 16 points, 6 assists, and 6 rebounds. Andrea Smith continued her hot shooting, scoring 18 points and added 9 rebounds. Courtney Williams had 9 points and Caitlin Rowe added 7 points off the bench, helping the offensive surge for USF as they took down the Orange.

This is the second straight win over a ranked team for the Bulls, helping add to their post-season resume as the season slowly comes to an end. While the win is huge, there is still a lot of work left for Coach Fernandez and team. The Bulls will take on Rutgers on Tuesday night at 7:30 PM, a critical game before USF returns home to face UCONN on Saturday. The game at Rutgers will be a huge one for the Bulls. If they want to continue this streak and add to the resume heading towards the tournament, they have to win that game.
