Game Thread: East Carolina vs. USF

The best team in the American is a great opportunity for USF to #DoSomething

James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports

Sometimes sports is pretty simple: For USF, today is one of those days.

Don't let Shane Carden pick you apart. Slow down the #1 offense in America (581 yards per game). You're not stopping a team that averages a borderline obscene .525 points per PLAY. But containing them, and possibly forcing some turnovers, will be crucial to success.

Possess the ball enough on offense to keep the Pirates off the field. The offense is halfway through the season, coming off a bye week, and got their best player back in Andre Davis. If they're ever going to show something this season, doing so against an ok-but-nothing-special ECU is just as good an opportunity as the rest of this schedule.

Make some plays on special teams. Have Dunkley break one. Steal a possession somewhere. Find a way.
