Storylines from last week's action:
- Florida State-Miami game was a big-impact game in our standings. Several players had large bets on Florida State, which looked lost before the Noles' second-half rally. They even managed to cover the point spread, which ranged from 1 1/2 to 3. The big winner on FSU was RyanTSmith, who had $150 fake dollars on them. Snafu13 ($100), GaryStephen ($100), iwaswrongabouthowell ($70), and DaGata ($50) also cashed in. Most hurt by UM's inability to finish off State were danj725 and diddybull, who had the Canes at +105 for $50.
- RyanTSmith leaped into first place, with the FSU win plus $40 each on San Diego State (+14, lost by 9), and SMU (+11, we all know what happened there) to cover.
- ULismyhothotsex wagered his last $51.29 on a three-way parlay: UTEP -6 over North Texas (won), and UTEP-North Texas under 53 (won), and... Boise State -14 over San Diego State (lost). Boise only won by 9, after having to come back in the fourth quarter. So he's down to 0, and must make a Sudden Death wager on one of next week's AAC games. But for wagering his last fifty bucks on a complicated parlay involving UTEP, he wins the Floyd's Money Team Degenerate Bet of the Week.
- We need to talk about bye weeks. The game rules allow you to take two bye weeks; most of you have already done so. Numbers in parentheses indicate the number of bye weeks you may still take, if you wish to (you don't have to take any bye weeks). Some of you have taken too many bye weeks and are ineligible to win the big prize, but nobody near the top of the charts at the moment.

The Randolph & Mortimer Spite Bet of the Week once again goes to sidwell31, for his standard bet honoring Willie Taggart's won-lost record. I know that one wins a lot, but there's not nearly enough hate in this group. We need to get fans of some AAC schools to join. We need a Kentucky fan to go with our Louisville fan, an FSU fan to go with our Gator fan, and to go with our Texas State fan... I dunno, a UTSA fan?
Next week's top games include: Kansas State-West Virginia on Thursday; Louisville-Notre Dame; Arizona-Utah; and Minnesota-Nebraska. The rivalry games start: we've got USC-UCLA, Duke-North Carolina, and Cal-Stanford. In AAC play, we've got all Saturday games: Cincinnati-UConn, USF-Memphis, SMU-UCF, Tulane-East Carolina, and Tulsa-Houston. We'll talk more about that last game in Friday's Week 13 preview post.
