USF to Play Texas In '19, '22, & '24: BYU in '21-'22

Sorry we held back some of this from you, but even we didn't know about BYU. AUSTIN! PROVO! YESSIR!!

USF has been doing a lot of things right lately, and so when we heard about the Texas series we knew it was in the best interests of the department to not write about it. We also figured when the news of the Northern Illinois series came out, it was designed to come out under the "bad news first, good news second" theory, and that this would leak soon.

But you can't beat this. Brett McMurphy makes it official:

Not to mention, scheduling a hopefully-pretty-good USF is aggressive on the Charlie Strong scheduling meter.

I was in the Austin airport a couple weeks ago

this is absolutely a 4-5 day trip for me minimum

So yeah, we're a bit excited about this. AUSTIN!!

But what I didn't know about was the BYU home and home. Taysom Hill won't be there anymore (even BYU doesn't have any players in their 30's... at least not yet), but they're always a competitive program and I've heard Provo is beautiful. Tailgating that day might be a bit of a challenge for the Bulls faithful, but it should one helluva trip to a beautiful part of the country. Let's also hope it's an early season out-of-conference game so the weather is still great.

This gives USF five great games to look forward to in the next 10 years. I know it seems far off, but we were waiting to get to Madison for years and hey look I'm still tired after getting home from that totally fun experience yesterday. If we're ever going to get out of the morass that is The American and into a better situation, it's through games like this. Also lots and lots and lots of winning and some more money and fan support wouldn't hurt etiher.

We might need to change the tagline of the blog to MARK HARLAN AIN'T PLAYIN' Y'ALL!!
