GameThread: USF vs. UConn in AAC Tourney Round One

In what is most likely the Bulls' final game of the season, look for some Zeigler dunks, some Guerrero blocks, some Holston threes and some Collins assists. Also, UConn has this guy called Ryan Boatright.

This season has been terrible. Leading scorers Chris Perry and Corey Allen Jr. are out and we are left with an assorted group of individually talented guys doing their best to play as a team. The Bulls are at the bottom of the conference, facing the defending national champions on their home floor. This season should be over tonight, allowing Orlando Antigua and the team to focus on next year.

Ryan Boatright and the Huskies need to win this tournament to get to the NCAA Tournament. As a sixth seed, that seems ridiculous, but this is UConn we're talking about. The Huskies were born for March basketball. On the other hand, with all of the pressure on them and none of it on USF, who knows? Maybe UConn will get nervous and fall apart while the Bulls put together a barn burner.

Your starters will be guards Anthony Collins, Nehemias Morillo and Troy Holston Jr., forward Bo Zeigler and center Ruben Guerrero. Holston Jr.'s 40 points in the last two games earned him AAC Rookie of the Week honors this week. Hopefully his success has not run out because USF needs all hands on deck to make tonight a contest. Morillo and Zeigler need to get into double digits, and the Bulls will also need some bench points from Cousins and Mercurius.

If USF wins, it means an unbelievable finish to the year. Losing ends the season now and frees the players and fans to concentrate on next year. Either way, the misery will end tonight. Follow the action in the comments below.
