USF Football enters the 2016 season as a favorite for the American Conference East Division, and Athlon Sports has taken notice as well. Ten Bulls -- the most of any AAC team-- were named to the first and second team rosters, headlined by junior running back Marlon Mack.
Mack, coming off back-to-back 1,000 yard seasons for the Bulls is joined on the first team by one of the men charged with clearing holes for him to run through, senior LT Kofi Amichia.
Junior linebacker Auggie Sanchez (117 tackles) represents the defense on the first team, and junior safety Tajee Fullwood was selected as the first-team punt returner after averaging 10.4 yards per runback in 2015.
Record-breaking quarterback Quinton Flowers (2,296 pass yards, 22 TD's, 991 rush yards, 12 TD's) was selected as the second-team signal caller. Flowers' primary target in 2015 Rodney Adams (882 rec. yards, 9 TDs, 466 return yards, 1 TD) joins him on second team at WR and KR. Senior guard Dominique Threatt joins the second team from the offensive line.
Junior defensive tackle Deadrin Senat (46 tackles, 5.5 TFL) is one of three other defensive players on the second team, alongside safety Nate Godwin (63 tackles, 1TFL) and junior cornerback Deatrick Nichols (62 tackles, 8.5 TFL, 4 INT, 2 FF, 1 TD).
Athlon also chose the Bulls to win the AAC East division and picked the running back unit of Mack, senior Darius Tice and junior D'Ernest Johnson as the best in the conference.
