Welcome to Week 1 of Season 6 of our college football gambling game!

For those who are new to the contest: every week, at about noon on Friday, we post all the picks for the week. This thread is for you to discuss your picks, and this week’s game action in general. Banter is much encouraged. And there are prizes to the year’s winner.

We line-shop for you; protectyouru.net offers the best -110 lines for each game, chosen from up to 15 different Internet and brick-and-mortar sports books. We also update lines throughout the week. This means you can take advantage of split bets, hedge bets, and other complex plays if you want to.

Here are all the picks that have been made so far. I will update this as the weekend progresses.

Our players got off to a good start in the Thursday night games. Everyone correctly picked Indiana over FIU; Tulane ATS against Wake Forest; and South Carolina to beat Vanderbilt outright. Everyone also hit the under in those two games. (Did anyone anywhere think Sakerlina-Vandy or Tulane-Wake Forest were going to go over?)

Four of you even played last week’s Cal-Hawaii game, you lovable bunch of degenerates. Results were mixed, but I admire your commitment.

A lot of Week 1 games don’t have lines because they are FCS vs FBS matchups, which often don’t. Marquee games are LSU-Wisconsin at Lambeau Field; Oklahoma-Houston at the Texans’ stadium, whatever it’s called; Texas-Notre Dame; Florida State-Ole Miss in Orlando; Clemson-Auburn; and Georgia-North Carolina.

In the AAC, the only FBS games are Army-Temple, SMU-North Texas, San Jose State-Tulsa, and the aforementioned Houston showdown.

Use the space below to talk up your picks, or about this weekend’s action in general. If you’d like to join the fun, send me an email, and I’ll get you a username/password for our site. Any questions, please ask!
